Banana Upside down cake

 Banana, banana, it's something that we always have in the kitchen , haha.




My family love to eat it, but sometimes we can't finished them before they become too ripe. It's my duty to find recipe that uses banana (or load of banana, ^^), and I'm happy with that. Because baked good that contains banana is delicious, right? And there are ton of the recipes for me to try. 
This time, rather than making simple banana cake, we turn it into upside down one, soft and moist cake with sticky toffee sauce to make it more delicious. Sticky toffee sauce in this recipe is very easy to make, and it's very good to serve this cake with lot (and lot) of unsweetened whipped cream, to balance with the sweetness from the sauce.

 Banana Upside down cake
Make 15x15 cm cake



Sauce
20 g ....................... Unsalted butter
1 tbsp .................... Water
120 g  .................... Brown sugar
1/8 tsp .................. Salt
1 tbsp .................... Whipping cream

Decorating
1............................. Banana

Cake batter
1 ............................ Banana (about 130 g)
1 tsp ...................... Vinegar
60 g ...................... Whipping cream
115 g ..................... Cake Flour
1/8 tsp .................. Salt
1/2 tsp .................. Baking powder
1/2 tsp .................. Baking Soda
65 g ...................... Unsalted butter
1/2 tsp .................. Vanilla extract
110 g ..................... Brown sugar
1 ............................ Egg




Preheat an oven to 200℃.


 Line 15x15 cm pan with baking paper.


 Put butter, water, brown sugar and salt into a saucepan.
Place over low heat.


 When the sugar melt and the mixture become boil, remove from heat.


 Pour half of the sauce into the prepared pan.
Slice the banana and place over the sauce.


 Put banana (130g), vinegar and whipping cream into a bowl.


 Beat until combine, set aside.


 Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt together, set aside.


 Beat the butter until smooth, put vanilla and brown sugar into the bowl, beat to combine.


 Put egg into the bowl, beat to combine.


 Pour half of sifted flour into the bowl, beat to combine.


 Pour banana mixture into the bowl, beat to combine.


 Put the rest of the flour into the bowl.


 Fold to combine.


 Pour the batter into the prepared pan.


 Smooth the top, and bake for 35-40 minutes.


 Remove from the oven, let it cool in the pan for 5 minutes.


 Flip onto a plate, and remove the pan and baking paper.


 Warm the sauce over low heat.


 Mix in the whipping cream.


 Stir until combine.


Pour the sauce over the cake, serve with whipped cream.
