Wheat Loaf with Chia Seeds, Sunflower Seeds, Pumpkin Seeds and Raisins Using Breadmaker
This recipe is adapted from our original milk loaf recipe. While it is our go-to recipe that we use weekly, we wanted to give it a healthier twist by incorporating whole wheat flour. Our result was perfect and we could smell the loaf from all around the whole house!
PS: We use the Philips Breadmaker HD9045. Please use your breadmaker's settings if you are using another machine. Enjoy!
Wheat Loaf
Yields 750g loaf
Ingredients
(A) For the wheat loaf
180ml low fat milk
1 egg, beaten
70g yogurt (I use Meiji low fat fruit-flavoured yogurt)
25g unsalted butter (cut up into fine slices)
5g salt
25g sugar
80g whole wheat flour (see photo below)
80g top flour
320g plain flour
1 tsp yeast
(B) Extra toppings - total 160g
chia seeds
sunflower seeds
pumpkin seeds
raisins
Directions
1) Put all ingredients in (A) into the baking tin, in the above sequence.
2) Use Setting 5 (Sweet bread mode), Light crust, 750g.
3) Midway, there will be a short beep. Put all the ingredients in (B) in.
4) After a total of 3h 22 min (i.e. starting from Step #2), a continuous beep will be heard. The loaf is now ready. Twist the baking tin gently to remove it from the machine.
5) Turn the baking tin gently upside down to remove the loaf. Lay the bread out to cool for at least an hour. Enjoy!
